In historic brick factories it was the job of the 'neerslager' to put down the baking trays filled with wet clay on the track. Then the bricks would start their drying process. Once dry the blocks were baked to bricks in ovens that can still be seen at the other side of the IJssel river. Later Aberson company (Olst) made the machines that would perform the heavy job of this people.
This statue was made by Theo Schreurs in 1988 by assignment of the Aberson company.
