Dünnern is a river with a length of 37 kilometers in the canton Solothurn. Its source is in the Jurassic Mountains near Gänsbrunnen in the far west of the canton; its flowing direction is to the east.
Aare is one of the main rivers of Switzerland and the longest that flows entirely within the country. It has a total length of 295 kilometers from its source in the Bernese Alps until it joins the Rhine near Koblenz. It has a drainage area of 17,779 km2, nearly half of Switzerland.
The confluence is just south of the old town center of Olten, next to the public outdoor pool of town. The exact coordinates are on the pedestrians bridge about 20 meters west of the confluence spot.
