The memorial has written inscriptions on three faces and a coat-of-arms on the fourth face. The inscribed faces read:

To the
glory of God
and in
loving memory
of Charlotte
wife of Captain
WRG Farmer
of Nonsuch
Park
who tried to
help the cause
of temperance
Died Dec 18 1906

The second inscribed face reads:

This fountain
is erected
by those who
loved her
dearly
as a lasting
memorial of
her unfailing
kindness to
all who
wanted help
or needed
sympathy

The third inscribed face reads:

As thirsting
travellers in
a desert land
welcome a
spring amidst
a waste of sand
so did her
kindly actions
cheer the sad
refresh the
worn and
make the
weary glad
