The commander of the US Army in World War II, The Author of the Plan for European economic recovery after the war, and the winner of the 1953 Nobel Prize for Peace was born on Main Street across front this site on December 31, 1880. The youngest son of Laura and George C. Marshall Sr. struggled in some school projects, however,he excelled in one, history. "It is clear he got a thorough grounding in the American Tradition."
