Le Congrès eucharistique de septembre 1918, organisé par l'abbé Onil Milot, fut un des plus grands événements religieux de l'histoire de Victoriaville, attirant 40 000 personnes.
Pour cette occasion, 24 arches avaient été construites. Par la suite, certains ont associé l'épidémie de grippe espagnole (typhus) au Congrès et à ces gens qui venaient de partout.
Toutes les arches, sauf une, ont par la suite été détruites. L'arche de Ste-Victoire est la seule qui reste.
The Eucharistic Congress in September 1918, organized by Father Onil Milot, was one of the biggest religious events in the history of Victoriaville, attracting 40,000 people.
For this occasion, 24 arches were built. Subsequently, some have associated the Spanish flu epidemic (typhus) to the Congress and the people who came from everywhere.
All arches but one were subsequently destroyed, the Ste-Victoire arch is the only on that remains.
