Pre-dating even the town of Claremore, the Daily Progress newspaper was established in 1892. This is a full service newspaper published Tuesday through Friday afternoons and Sunday mornings. The paper covers the communities of Claremore, Catoosa, Chelsea, Inola, Oologah, Tiawah, Talala, Verdigris and rural Rogers County.
Each year the paper features several special sections and publish two magazines, "The Surrey" and "Retirement Redefined." The newspaper maintains a 24-hour news website. Readers can subscribe to either the hand-delivered paper or the online digital version.
Offices are located in downtown Claremore. A bronze plaque near the entrance indicates that the Daily Progress is a "locally operated member of the Donrey Media Group founded in 1940". (Donrey Media recently changed their name to Stephens Media Group).
Alongside the building is a sculpture of Will Rogers sitting on a bench reading a copy of the Daily Progress.
