" HAVE you ever seen anything like it? Have you ’eck as like!
Coronation Street fans have been getting a taste of the famous cobbles right here in Weymouth since this mural appeared.
It has proved more popular than Betty’s famous hot pots, with fans having their picture taken next to it and calling the taxi company behind the painting to get directions as to its whereabouts.
It was commissioned by taxi company Streetcars, which shares its name with the taxi firm owned by Steve McDonald and business partner Lloyd Mullaney in the soap.
And Steve himself, pictured, makes an appearance in the Weymouth mural, propping up against a wooden post in the painting, which can be found next to the Governor’s Lane car park.
A spokesman for Streetcars said: “It’s got a lot of interest. We’ve had people phoning up saying ‘I don’t want a taxi, but can you tell me where the mural is?’”
And it’s even made it on to the Coronation Street Blog – a dedicated site for fans of the show.
Glenda Young, who runs the blog, said: “I haven’t seen anything else like it anywhere, it’s quite amazing. “Fans seem to really love it and have been sending in pictures to us on Twitter of themselves standing in front of it.”
A spokesman for the long-running ITV soap said: “This is a fantastic piece of wall art and a great homage to the legendary Steve McDonald and the Rovers Return – thanks to the people of Weymouth for their support of the show.” "

"Created by artist Peter Sheridan, the mural depicts Corrie’s famous Rovers Return and Streetcars taxis, owned by Steve McDonald and his business partner Lloyd Mullaney in the soap.
Weymouth’s very own Streetcars were responsible for commissioning the wall art, which is now attracting Corrie fans who want to have their photo taken standing in front of it."
