There is a small park/plaza set beside the Newport Museum, which is now housed in the old Idaho & Washington Northern Depot along Highway 2 on the south end of town.

In the park is a gazebo with a small bell tower atop and an analogue clock within. The clock was purchased and is maintained through the support of the Soroptimist International of Newport, Washington. A plaque acknowledging the generosity of the Soroptimists was mounted beside the gazebo by the Chamber of Commerce indicating that the clock was dedicated in 2000.
The plaque reads as follows
