A number of gargoyles around St Chad's church, plus one that seems to have escaped and gone in from the cold. They seem to be carved in the same style as those of Heckington St Andrew, so possibly the same craftsman made these.
The church dates from the 12th century and was restored in 1884.
Constructed with limestone and slate roofs, there is a western tower with a spire, nave and aisles, chancel and south porch.
The tower, of four stages, dates from the 12th century. There is an octagonal crocketted spire with 14th century battlements. It is strangely convex towards the top.
Water spout is used: no
Condition: Lightly Weathered
