Le Grand Ballon (Alsatian: Grosser Belchen) is the highest peak of the Vosges, the Alsace region and the department of Haut-Rhin. It is located 25 km northwest of Mulhouse.
Some call yet Ballon Guebwiller, the name closest to the city, 8 km to the east, as the crow flies. It rises to 1424 meters. Since 1998, there is a radar with public access u to see the surrounding valleys. You have to walk fifteen to twenty minutes to reach it. The views are amazing!

Le Grand Ballon (en alsacien : Grosser Belchen) est le point culminant du massif des Vosges, de la région Alsace et du département du Haut-Rhin. Il est situé à 25 km au nord-ouest de Mulhouse.
Certains l'appellent encore Ballon de Guebwiller, du nom de la ville la plus proche, située à 8 km à l'est, à vol d'oiseau. Il s'élève à 1 424 mètres . Depuis 1998, il y a un radar avec accès u public pour voir les vallées environnantes. Il vous faut marcher quinze à vingt minutes pour l'atteindre. Les vues sont surprenantes!
