La bataille de Arracourt était un affrontement majeur entre les forces américaines et blindées allemandes près de la ville de Arracourt, Lorraine, France, entre 18-29 Septembre 1944, pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Dans le cadre d'une contre-offensive contre les avancées récentes des États-Unis en France, la 5e armée blindée allemande avait pour objectif la reconquête de Lunéville et l'élimination de la tête de pont Corps XII US sur la Moselle à Dieulouard. Avec supériorité locale en troupes et des chars, les Allemands prévoient la défaite rapide de la Combat Command défendre A (CCA) de la 4e division blindée US. Contre toute attente allemands, en partie grâce aux tactiques pauvres et le terrain, la 4e CCA Armored Division, de concert avec les forces américaines aériennes tactiques, défait deux brigades et des éléments de deux divisions Panzer Panzer.
The Battle of Arracourt was a major clash between U.S. and German armored forces near the town of Arracourt, Lorraine, France, between 18–29 September 1944, during the Second World War. As part of a counteroffensive against recent U.S. advances in France, the German 5th Panzer Army had as its objective the recapture of Lunéville and the elimination of the U.S. XII Corps bridgehead over the Moselle River at Dieulouard. With local superiority in troops and tanks, the Germans anticipated quick defeat of the defending Combat Command A (CCA) of the U.S. 4th Armored Division. Against German expectations, due in part to poor tactics and the terrain, the 4th Armored Division's CCA, in concert with U.S. tactical air forces, defeated two Panzer brigades and elements of two Panzer divisions.
