Douglas is a community three miles Southeast of Waterville in Southwest Douglas county. The town was named after the county which was named after U.S. Senator Stephen A. Douglas. It was a station on a branch of the Great Northern Railway on Douglas Creek that went from the Columbia river to Mansfield.
