This monument to the 92nd Ohio Infantry Regiment, commanded by Col. Benjamin D. Fearing, and Lieut. Col. Douglas Putnam, Jr. is in recognition of their service during the during the
Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. This monument marks their position at 6:30 pm on September 20, 1863. There are three monuments to the 92nd Ohio Infantry Regiment on the battlefield.
