Parachuting Cows? Mesa Feed Barn is so popular with livestock that cows are parachuting onto their block. Or so it would seem when viewing the giant mural barely a stone’s throw north of the feed business.

The mural is actually painted on the south side of a grain silo and warehouse in the railroad right of-way just north of Broadway Road, between Hibbert and Pomeroy Streets. The 100-yard-long artwork titled “Feeding the Cows” depicts a sunny, peaceful rural scene with cows grazing among saguaros and farmland. As a humorous touch, a number of bovines are parachuting onto the utopian landscape. If it weren’t for the mural’s relatively obscure location by the tracks, it would probably be the talk of downtown Mesa. Doug Erenberg of Erenberg Brothers, which owns the grain silo and warehouse, commissioned two Los Angeles artists by the names of Keo and Skale to paint the mural a few years ago.
