Northern Mercantile Company Building
J. K. Dow also designed this large two-story brick building, for the Northern Mercantile Company in 1905. The building is slightly off-square, following the diagonal line of Main Street. The remodeled first-story façade contains just one large storefront while the upstairs contains a number of offices.
The evenly spaced upper windows are double-hung sash with flat lintels, and a simple metal cornice tops the building. An unusual detail is the rear entrance on Main Street, which is set out from the building at an angle and is topped by an elaborate pedimented gable.
