This John Deere tractor resides in a playground within Riverside Park and amongst a couple of other industrial vehicles. After doing some online research I determined that this tractor is a Model D John Deere, the first mass-produced tractor using the John Deere name that began production in 1923. I couldn't determine what year this model is but guessing from looking at similar models that it is a late 1920s tractor.
There are missing parts on this tractor, particularly, the wheel fenders over the spoked wheels as well as an exhaust pipe that would have protruded up about 2 feet above the engine block. Also, this tractor may have come with rubber tires (it was an option when sold), but this model was mainly sold without tires.
Nonetheless, it's a great piece of vintage equipment on this playground and the kids had fun climbing around it (including my wife).
