This station is a National Geodetic Survey standard vertical control disk, located on U.S. Route 7, north of the village of Gaylordsville, in New Milford, CT.
It is north from the village center, off the east side of the roadway, set in top of the SW corner of a large rock outcrop, just south from a junction with Grove Road, and across from the Bulls Bridge power plant entrance:
DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984 1.7 KM (1.05 MI) NW FROM GAYLORDSVILLE. 1.7 KM (1.05 MI) NORTHWEST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 7 FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 55 IN GAYLORDSVILLE TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT, IN TOP OF EXPOSED ROCK OUTCROP, JUST SOUTHEAST OF THE JUNCTION OF GROVE ROAD AND ACROSS THE HIGHWAY FROM THE ENTRANCE TO CONNECTICUT LIGHT AND POWER, BULLS BRIDGE PLANT, 6.40 METERS (21.0 FT) NORTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 32.00 METERS (105.0 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF GROVE ROAD. THE MARK IS 0.35 METERS NW FROM A WITNESS POST. THE MARK IS 1.46 M ABOVE HIGHWAY.
The witness post is gone but the description is adequate. Parking may be tricky on the main road, however, there is a small parking lot at the power plant entrance, or off the Grove Road intersection.
