Glückaufhaus was built as an office block in the years 1922/1923 in the southquarter of Essen.
The architect was Ernst Bode (1878–1944).
At first Glückaufhaus was in usage by municipal corporations, several privat offices and governmental institutions.
After World War II the British military administration used the building.
Until 1999 it was the place of business of the Unternehmensverband Ruhrbergbau.
Today it is the place of business of an electronic company.
