The monument has the family name, "Solomon", on the front of the base, and there is funeral draping around the perimeter of the base. An artistic urn is atop the monument, accompanied by flowers, and only the main face has an inscription, which is:
C.A. Solomon,
Born May 30, 1841,
Died Mar. 8, 1901.
Here I lay my burden
down,
Change the cross
for the Crown.
Above the inscription is a sheaf of wheat, signifying the "harvest" at the end of life. On the other faces are a rose, an anchor -- signifying hope -- and a garland of flowers.
