In the opening minutes of Season 1, Episode 2 of Murder in the First, titled the "The City of Sisterly Love", a scene is shown where the detectives Terry English and Hildy Mulligan are attending a funeral. This scene clearly takes place at a high point in the San Francisco National Cemetery, overlooking the San Francisco bay, Alcatraz and Angel Island.
I thought this spot would be easy to find, as it appears to be off the main road, with a couple of distinctive headstones nearby the tall grayish headstone in between a column of white markers at the edge of the road and another grayish headstone with a cross on top. These would stand out from the many white marble headstones among the rows,
Well, I found this scene near a small circle in the road at the top of Main Drive, but there were differences. The first tall grayish headstone was the only headstone found in the scene. The headstone with the cross is not to be found. After looking closely at the TV photo, I notices that there were two faintly different colors of green for the grass! The show had laid down astro-turf over the roadway at the circle and apparently brought in some of their own headstones to place of the phony grass surface. The scene was actually located in the roadway circle.
