"The Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail, a shared pathway for cyclist, walkers and horses, follows the disused rail line for 134km from Tallarook through Yea to Mansfield with a link between Cathkin and Alexandra." (ex Railtrails.net.au)

This is a shared use trail with at present some 15 geocaches for walkers, runners, cyclists, and horse riders to find while using the well maintained trail. It is mostly compressed local gravel.

There are picnic shelters, and toilets conveniently along the line for the users.

At the Mansfield end of the Rail Trail is a metal sign with the following information on distances and surfaces.

Mansfield Line: Tallarook/Cathkin

*	Tallarook to Trawool 11km
	(compacted granitic sand surface)

* Trawool to Kerrisdale 8.5km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Kerrisdale to Homewood 10km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Homewood to Yea 9km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Yea to Cheviot 5km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Cheviot to Cheviot Tunnel 3.5km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Cheviot Tunnel to Molesworth 8km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Molesworth to Cathkin 4.5km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

Alexandra Line: Cathkin/Alexandra * Cathkin to Koriella 9km (compacted gravel surface)

* Koriella to Alexandra 4km (compacted gravel surface)

Mansfield Line: Cathkin/Mansfield * Cathkin to Yarck 6km (compacted gravel and granitic sand surface)

* Yarck to Kanumbra 8km (compacted gravel surface)

* Kanumbra to Merton 11.5km (compacted gravel surface)

* Merton to Woodfield 9km (compacted gravel surface)

* Woodfield to Bonnie Doon 5km (compacted gravel surface)

* Bonnie Doon to Maindample 8km (compacted gravel surface)

* Maindample to Mansfield 14km (compacted gravel surface)
