We made a special effort just to see this trout, even had to back-track as we missed it coming into town.
The Kamloops' Trout is by far one of the best wood cravings we have visited on our many trips throughout British Columbia. Remember: "After all a trip is not only about the destination but also about the journey."
Kamloops' Trout
There is a plaque at the base of the Kamloops Trout that is transcribed as follow:
KAMLOOPS TROUT
This carving of a Kamloops Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss) was a project in recognition of our Centennial celebrations in 1993 and the World Fly Fishing Championship June 6-12, 1993.
The Kamloops Trout is part of the heritage of our area and provides joy and wonder to citizens and visitors alike.
