[EN] Datant approximativement du IIIème siècle, la tour est posée dans le paysage de manière monumentale.
Le fanal représente un massif de maçonnerie non creux et sans chambre funéraire, où les grosses pierres de taille servant de revêtement sont encore visibles.
A l’époque, il était entouré d’une enceinte rectangulaire, dont un des côtés longeait la voie romaine.
Néanmoins, l’utilité de cette pile reste vague. Soit elle devait servir de repère significatif aux voyageurs circulant sur la voie romaine. Ou bien, il s’agit d’un monument funéraire dont son enclos lui octroyait un caractère sacré.
[EN] A fanal is a construction used to guide travelers. At the time, the Fanal D'Ebeon was surrounded by a rectangular wall, of which one side bordered the Roman road.
The use of this pile remains uncertain. Either it was used to allow travellers on the Roman road to get their bearings, or it was possibly a funerary monument, the wall bestowing on it a sacred nature.
