Antonio Borges Botanical Gardens was constructed in the 19 century. The gardens are about one mile from center of Ponta Delgada. The admission fee is a few Euros.
As you walk around the Garden viewing all of the different plants,flowers, and trees, you will come across a tree pictured in the photos. Notice the size of the roots as they are huge.
