Alpha A. Lewis - Stony Cemetery - Stony, TX - Homemade Tombstones on Waymarking.com

The inscription is:

Alpha A. Lewis was born December the 11 1890 and died March the 13 1987.

Note the dots being used as separators. The death date logically has to be 1987, but unfortunately, the 9 has been defaced. One can but wonder why a more modern headstone resembles one from a hundred years before it, complete with a reversed 3 in "13". There is no Findagrave entry for Lewis, which further adds to the mystery.

Note: Stony (sometimes "Stoney") Cemetery is one of the few remnants of the old town, along with an abandoned school and a still-functioning church. Much of this area is now gas lease property, and access to the cemetery is slightly-restricted. At the gate to the road to the cemetery (Stoney Creek Dr), there is a very prominent "No Trespassing" sign with a number to call. The gentleman at the other end of that number is very cordial, and very likely will allow access for visitors. He did mention that, occasionally, the gas folks will leave a gate locked when they're not supposed to do that, and asked that you call him if that happens.
