The Newport Transporter Bridge is one of only three working suspension aerial ferries in the World. There are only eight, of any type remaining aerial ferries in total, of which the Newport bridge has the largest span of 650 feet.
The Coordinates were taken at the visitor centre on the western side of the bridge. (parking available for a few cars)
The Blue section of the bridge is suspended by ropes from the bridge deck high above the River Usk, The blue cabin, fencing & the road deck & fencing. The whole lot swings across the River.
It cost just a 1 GB Pound ($1.5) for a car each way, and free for pedestrians.

They feature a high gantry – tall enough to allow ships to pass below – carrying a gondola to transport foot passengers and vehicles across a waterway. Less than ten survive, though not all are still in use.
