Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park is an amazing geological feature in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The lake referred to in the name is 62 metres (203 feet) above the Bay of Qunite and is only separated from the bay by a a few hundred meters.
The lake has had a history with the native culture and it's mysterious origins have been disputed by many. The common idea is that it is a collapsed doline. The depth isn't known but attempts have put it at least at 34 metres.
The park was established in 1957 and has an area of 104 hectares. There is only a viewing platform, parking lot and bathroom.
