The town of Vulcan has managed to cling to one of its
twelve old elevators, a bright orange and yellow Pioneer, but this is not one of them. This was purpose-built in later years as a seed cleaning plant, and though it handles grain, it is only to clean it and return it to the farmer. Difficult to say when it was built, but many were built in Alberta in the 1960s and 70s. It still carries on, cleaning seed for some of the best hard red spring wheat in the world.
