BM0901 - AUSTIN CAP DOME LIBERTY STAR - Austin, TX - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

As described by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1935 (even though it had already been observed by the CGS in 1903 but not fully described as yet):
"STAR IN THE HAND OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY ATOP THE CAPITOL DOME IS UNCHANGED SINCE 1903."

Please note the following addendums, per by another waymark I posted: (visit link)

* For starters, the statue on top of the dome of the Texas State Capitol is called "Goddess of Liberty", not "Statue of Liberty" (which is the one in New York City).

* Also, the original statue was taken down and replaced with a replica in 1986. However, the new statue is the same size and orientation; therefore, the coordinates of that star are the exact same ones as those given from the monumentation in 1903.
