Genelle, with a mere population of about 800 residents, offers a wonderful area to bring the entire family.
The Genelle Community Hall and Park are very well maintained and almost totally funded by donations and volunteer support from local residents.
We spoke to the director of the Community Hall and found her to be dedicated to preserving and the continual development of the community hall and park.
The community hall hosts local events and has several "Family Day" events and sponsors the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Available upon request, the community hall offers kitchen facilities, dining area, small library, and a nice place to hold your next birthday party, class or family reunion, or other social gatherings.
Local clubs and organizations hold meetings, senior and children activities are also available.
The park has a large children’s playground, horseshoe pits, outdoor basketball court, picnic tables, nice lawn area and it is close to the Columbia River.
Within the park there are covered picnic areas where you can gather with friends and play games or cards. Public restrooms are available.
The playground has so much to offer with a large jungle gym with slide, tot and children swings, merry-go-round, teeter totters, large slide, and brightly colored tires to explore. There is also a climbing dome, and with the jungle gym you can play "Farmer's Market".
If you are traveling and close to Genelle this park and community hall are highly recommended.
Genelle was named after the Genelle brothers, who were involved in the area lumber industry.
