A plaque honoring those who fought for the Union is located near the information kiosk at the southeast part of the ground floor of the Connecticut State Capitol Building in Hartford, CT.

In an alcove in the Connecticut State Capitol Building there is a simple memorial plaque placed by the Daughters of Union Veterans. It is to the right and in back of a statue of Prudence Crandall which was recently installed.

The 3' by 4' bronze plaque is inscribed:

IN MEMORY OF
OUR HEROIC FATHERS

ERECTED BY THE
DAUGHTERS OF UNION VETERANS
OF THE CIVIL WAR
MARCH 1927

Visitors can tour the Connecticut Capitol Building by entering the west entrance. The building is open for visitors Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Guided tours are available at quarter past the hour until 13:15. Self-guided booklets are available on the first floor.
