The Hanover Junction Railroad Station was constructed between 1852 and 1854.

On November 18-19, 1863, Abraham Lincoln and a train of dignigaries traveled through Hanover Junction to and from the dedicatory ceremonies for Gettysburg's National Cemetery during which Lincoln presented his now famous Gettysburg Address.

Hanover Junction Railroad Station used to serve the Northern Central Railroad, but today has been restored and is a museum along the York County Heritage Rail-Trail.
