Okanagan Lake’s mysterious lake monster is world renowned. Reports of Ogopogo sightings and testimonies date back to the 1860’s making the Ogopogo 60 years older than the Loch Ness Monster. There have been many claimed sightings and photos of the monster, but as of yet there is no physical evidence of its existence.

Ogopogo, known to the First Nation people as N'Haatik: the Snake of the Lake. Legends were handed down from father to son about the monster whose home was between Squally Point and Rattlesnake Island. He had to be appeased or he would churn the waters in fury. Archival records of the existence of the Ogopogo date back to 1872. All the murals are well done paying tribute to the artist's talent and creativity for any passersby to enjoy.
