The Imagination Station (formerly known as COSI Toledo) opened October 10, 2009 as a non-profit, hands-on science center at the downtown riverfront. The Rolling Ball Sculpture is located in the front lobby next to the Science2GO gift shop. Admission is not required to access this sculpture or the gift shop.
This sculpture uses various sized balls that take different routes to create music, noise, and reactions along their paths through metal channels. Along their paths added force and direction changes can be made from the outside by spectators. We found this was a very popular exhibit for young and old to observe.
The rolling ball sculpture was presented to the Imagination Station (formerly known as COSI Toledo)by philanthropists Ashel and Dorothy Bryan.
