In Boston, on Mt. Vernon Street, is this plaque for former Poet-laureate, Robert Lee Frost.

The plaque is mounted on the outside wall of a red brick building at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Willow Street, and faced Louisburg Square.

The plaque has the following text:

"Robert Lee Frost
1874-1963
America's "Poet Laureate" and four-time Pulitzer Prize winner lived at 88 Mt. Vernon Street from 1938-1941 while teaching poetry at Harvard University.

'The figure a poem makes, it begins in delight and ends in wisdom.'"

Robert Frost was born in San Francisco. The family moved to the Boston area. He remained in New England most of his life and many of his poems have New England settings. His first published poem was "My Butterfly, an Elergy" in 1894. One of his most famous poems is, "The Road Not Taken."
