Visitor Centre – the Radegast Shrine
The tour of the Radegast brewery starts at the Visitor Centre – the Radegast Shrine, which features an interactive exhibition. It takes you through the history of Radegast beer and its ties with the life in the region, the cult of the Radegast god and the pure nature of the Beskydy countryside, which provides an important ingredient in the beer, the wonderful water from the Morávka River.
Cylindrical-Conical Fermenters
After the introduction at the Visitor Centre, you will tour the actual process areas on the brewery. First, you will walk beneath the huge cylindrical-conical vessels in which Radegast beer ferments.
Malting Plant
Malt is one of the key ingredients in beer and at the Radegast brewery, we make our own. As the process takes several days, it will be presented to you in a concise film on a large screen in front of the malting plant.
Packaging plant
The next stop is at the Radegast bottling plant – one of the most modern, fully automated packaging linesin Central Europe, with a capacity of 50,000 bottles per hour. For operational reasons, we cannot guarantee that the line will be running at full pace at the time of your tour. However, there is a video which shows all stages of bottle filling in detail.
Storage Cellar
In a specially-designed room reminiscent of a beer storage or lagering barrel, you can take a look at the storage cellar. Young beer is transferred from the cylindrical-conical fermenters to the storage cellar to further ferment and mature.
Brewhouse
The tour continues at the brewhouse – the heart of the brewery where Radegast beer is brewed. Here, you will see trout fish used to monitor the excellent quality of the water from the Morávka River. The local water is a key ingredient in brewing Radegast beer, together with Saaz hops from the Tršice region and malt from our own maltings..
Beer Tasting
At our brewery, you do not taste beer with just your eyes. Every tour is rounded off with savouring some of the properly bitter Radegast brew at a tasting tower which dominates the brewery site, offering lovely panoramic views of the picturesque Beskydy Mountains.
