Roatan's Mahogany Bay Cruise Center, opened in 2010, is comprised of a large "Disneyesque" shopping and dining complex, as well as a 10-acre island featuring a white sand beach. The only question you may have is how do you make your way to Mahogany Beach.
This excursion give you an all-day pass to use the "Magical Flying Beach Chair" that whisks you the quarter mile from the shops to the beach and back. Modeled after a traditional ski lift and incorporating the latest technological advancements, the Magical Flying Beach Chair takes you on a six-minute ride across nearly 1,200 feet of cables suspended 67 feet above a lush canopy of trees.
Mahogany Beach is a private oasis with an 825-foot long shoreline. Here you can grab a lounge chair and catch up on your reading, float your cares away on a raft, or play beach volleyball. With a myriad of watersports, there is something for everyone.
If you're thirsty, beachside attendants can take your orders from the bar. And if you want to scratch your shopping itch, the Cruise Center offers a host of retail outlets including two themed bars, a restaurant and several shops brimming with souvenirs and other goods.
Note: The Magical Flying Beach Chair ride is in continuous motion, with passengers embarking and disembarking through the day. The chairlift is not wheelchair accessible.
