From the overlook beneath the star, one can get an oriented to the distant mountain peaks. Below the overlook lies the City of Roanoke. In the background, one can view some of the Blue Ridge Mountains. One of the landmarks I look for are the antennas on Tinker Mountain. My daughter attends Hollins University which is at the foot of this mountain.
