The "Great War", a war to end all wars, is remembered by a memorial consisting of winged female figure of Victory with a roll of at least 600 names.

Official Description: Winged female figure of Victory, wearing drapery and a crown of laurel leaves. She holds a sword in her upraised proper right hand and steps forward with her proper right foot. The sculpture is mounted atop a gray granite base with bronze honor roll which features relief of an eagle and flag.
Inscriptions:

- Roll of Honor 1917 1919. This memorial erected and dedicated by the people of Monongahela in honor of their boys who answered our country's call in the World War (followed by lists of names)
The memorial is located off to the south side of the city park. A newer multiple war memorial dominates the street view.
The honor roll represents at least 7% of the city population at that time.
