The bus station the Espalnade is a modern building erected in 2007 and has apartments and offices above it.
Jersey is a small island just 14km wide by 8 km deep, and is well served by its bus service.
The main bus company has 28 routes that cover most of the island and so it is possible to use buses to visit most tourist destinations. The buses run regularly and because some routes overlap each other depending on where you're going you may have to only wait 10 minutes for the next bus. The fares are also cheap with the maximum fare for any one single journey being one pound eighty pence in 2014.
There are 11 bust stands that have inside waiting area and a further 4 stands outside the terminus. Even for the 4 outside stands there is a covered area
On most routes the maximum journey time is about 1/2 half an hour including the airport.
A vintage tourist bus also uses one of the outside stands at the station.
