This historic marker notes the establishment of the original St. Peter hospital at this site on the present day Capitol Grounds in 1887. The marker was placed during the 100th anniversary year in 1987. Today, St. Peter Hospital is located about 3 miles to the northeast in the Lilly Road Medical District. The text of the marker reads:

Site of first
St. Peter Hospital

Built 1887
Razed 1924

Established by the Sisters of Providence
to serve the sick and needy.
Their work continues today throughout
the West.

DEDICATED JUNE, 1987 ON THE OCCASION OF
ST. PETER HOSPITAL'S 100th ANNIVERSARY
