Tottenham is a community in the town of New Tecumseth, in south-central Ontario, Canada. It takes its name from its first postmaster, Alexander Totten. The Tottenham Conservation Area is a recreational facility in the village, which is also famous for its annual event, the Tottenham Bluegrass Festival. There is also a restored steam train that is a tourist attraction, taking passengers to Beeton and back. Tottenham is home to three schools: Tottenham Public School, Father F.X. O'reilly School, and Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School.
The Tottenham Conservation Area is an easy 40 minute drive north of Toronto. It is located between Hwy 27 and Hwy 50 just north of Hwy 9.
Tottenham Conservation Area is situated in a picturesque spot. It boasts 41 acres of prime parkland and overlooks a magnificent pond.
The large sandy beach offers a host of possibilities for keeping cool and having fun! A pavilion is located near the beach area for picnics and shelter. Bring your canoe or pedal boats to fish in the pond or bring your friends and plan a beach volleyball game.
The park offers camping facilities, fishing, nature trails and pavilion that can be reserved for private occasions such as business retreats, family reunions and picnics. There is an abundance of wildlife in its natural habitat which can readily be seen - blue heron, red foxes, pheasants, groundhogs, Trumpeter Swans and a large variety of birds. Canada Geese are regular visitors to the area in late spring and early fall.
