The story takes place in the 1960s, when Disneyland has been open for close to a decade. P. L. Travers is a British citizen and creator of the story of Mary Poppins. Walt Disney is interested in making a movie about her book, but the real problem arises when P. L. is constantly reminded of her father's painful death, which gives her her unwillingness to change minute details for a theatrical film. Walt decides it's time to show her Disneyland and show her what he can do to make her famous. P. L. Travers finally gives in after she learns to take risks in life.
