The Trans-Siberian Railway is a network of railways connecting Moscow with the Russian Far East and the Sea of Japan.
With a length of 9,289 km (5,772 mi), it is the longest railway line in the world. There are connecting branch lines into Mongolia, China and North Korea. It has been connecting Moscow with Vladivostok since 1916 and is still being expanded.
In the history of rail transport, dating back to the 19th Century, there have been hundreds of named passenger trains. This train is called "Rossiya" and goes from Moscow to Vladivostok, via Perm, Ekaterinburg, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Chita and Khabarovsk.
I suggest to stop in Ekaterinburg to visit the Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land built on the site of the Ipatiev House where Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, and several members of his family and household were shot by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War.
Then you stop in Irkutsk, to visit the great Lake Baïkal and benefit of a typical russian bagna.
Stop by Khabarovsk to visit a museum and you will finally arrive in Vladivostok, at the eastern end of Asia. Bon Voyage!
