Carl Hubbell was born June 22, 1903 in Carthage, Missouri but came to Meeker when only one. His career with the New York Giants was memorable. Joining the franchise in 1928, he played in 16 season, and retired in 1943. He was a left-handed pitcher, specializing in the screwball. Elected MVP in 1933 and 1936, he was selected for the All-Star team nine times, played in three World Series and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947. Upon retirement, Hubbell continued to work for the Giants franchise for 35 years, in player development and as a scout. Carl Hubbell passed away after an auto accident on November 21, 1988 at the age of 85.

This is a small museum located in City Hall. It contains memorabilia of Meeker's Favorite Son. The museum charges no admission fee, but donations are welcome. The museum is open M-F 8-5.
