This station is a standard NGS vertical control mark, located in Redding, CT. It is set horizontally in a rock outcrop, near the west edge of Black Rock Turnpike (CT Rt. 58).

The NGS description is as follows:

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1985
1.8 KM (1.1 MI) SOUTH FROM REDDING RIDGE.
1.8 KM (1.1 MI) SOUTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 58 FROM THE JUNCTION OF
CROSS HIGHWAY IN REDDING RIDGE TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT, 6.0 METERS
(20.0 FT) SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 20.4 METERS
(67.5 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF A DRIVEWAY, 2.1 METERS (7.0 FT)
NORTHEAST OF A ROCK WALL.
THE MARK IS 0.61 M ABOVE HIGHWAY.

Additionally, power pole #1940 is 15-ft south from the mark.

Parking a vehicle is possible just north of the station. The rock outcrop and mark are plainly visible from the roadway.
