Portland Art Museum (1933) is located at 1219 SW Ninth Avenue. Architect: Pietro Belluschi. Owner: Local Government. Spanning 35 centuries of art, the Oregon Art Institute Museum's collection is the most comprehensive on the West Coast. It includes renowned ethnic collections of Asian, African, pre-Colombian, and Northwest Coast American Indian art, as well as American, European and contemporary art.The Modern/Georgian-style building was renovated in 1995. The architect who renovated the Portland Art Museum in 1995, Ann Beha of Ann Beha & Associates, Boston, had been a student of the original architect, Pietro Belluschi, at M.I.T. The tomb-like Masonic Temple (1924) next door is now a part of the Portland Art Museum, housing the Contemporary Art collection.
