Located inside the lobby of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum are three quotes by noted individuals. This particular quote is located on the east part of the lobby and reads:

I BELIEVE THE SECOND HALF OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
WILL BE KNOWN AS THE "AGE OF NIXON."

-- SENATOR BOB DOLE

On April 22, 1994, Richard Milhous Nixon, the 37th President of the United States, died after suffering a stroke four days earlier. His public funeral followed five days later here at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, the home of his birthplace, also located here. It was during Nixon's funeral when former Senator Robert Dole uttered those words which are now 'etched in stone' inside the lobby and where Nixon's body lay in state before the funeral ceremony.

Another quote within the lobby was mentioned by President Bill Clinton during Nixon's funeral and reads:

MAY THE DAY OF JUDGING PRESIDENT NIXON ON ANYTHING LESS THAN
HIS ENTIRE LIFE AND CAREER COME TO A CLOSE.

-- PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON

Clinton spoke at approximately 5 p.m. at Nixon's funeral and uttered these words.

The third quote in the lobby was mentioned by President-elect Richard Nixon at 12:16 p.m. from the inaugural platform erected at the East Front of the Capitol, immediately following administration of the oath of office by Chief Justice Earl Warren and reads:

THE GREATEST HONOR HISTORY CAN BESTOW IS THE TITLE OF PEACEMAKER.

The address was broadcast on radio and television. This quote is also etched in stone on Richard Nixon's grave marker also located at the Presidential Library and Museum and near his birthplace.
