This waymark has never been submited to a category for review. I know the building was erected in 1946-1947. There are quite a few links with information on the web. Maybe someone else could do a better write up than I can. I do know that the town here was named by a Irish immigrant named Patrick Hagan, and he named the town after his home town in Ireland. Dungannon means "Fort on the River Gannon".
