This course is in a natural desert park in an urban setting. The 160 acres of the lower Sonoran Desert which comprise this Park are dedicated to nature-oriented recreation and preserving the natural desert vegetation in the Tucson area.
The permanent orienteering course consists of 39 permanent checkpoints located at significant land forms. These control markers are a set of numbered concrete posts marked on the map with a circle and a dot. The complete 1:5000-scale map can be downloaded from the Tucson Orienteering Club web site for printing.
Difficulty level: Moderate.
Course length: Three miles.
Course Climb: 250 feet.
